The top half of the PIKE antenna is lifted Friday, July 10, 2015, in order for a U.S. Navy Research Lab crew to deconstruct the antenna and take it to be repurposed. Schriever Top Performer

Each month the Schriever Air Force Base Top III honors a Top Performer. The Top Performer award highlights the superior efforts and contributions of our junior enlisted members from across the base. Tech. Sgt. Peter Uson, 50th Civil Engineer Squadron, earned the June Top III Top Performer of the month awar. As the non-commissioned officer in charge of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, Uson manages a mix of civilian and military technicians on a daily basis. His remarkable skills and management led to the simultaneous completion of two high priority HVAC outages at Building 300 and 50th Space Wing headquarters. Specifically, Uson and his team repaired numerous leaks, corrected control panel issues, replaced flow sensors and repaired damaged duct work helping to bring the temperature down in facilities to a comfortable level. The HVAC technicians here on Schriever are seldom seen, but they impact this base in a huge way. Whether it is mission facilities requiring additional cooling for equipment or resolving an issue with warm offices, he and his team are by far the unsung heroes of Schriever Air Force Base.
