The 17th Test Squadron, a component of Operational Test and Evaluation, is located at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado. 

Mission 
The 17th TS is a space-focused that delivers validated warfighting capabilities and ensures an independent assessment of 
space systems' performance. The unit conducts integrated test planning, execution and reporting on 34 major weapon systems 
worth over $21 billion. They also efficiently execute over 60 test activities on a $4.7 million annual budget to support U.S. Space 
Force and Combatant Commanders' operational acceptance, fielding & critical employment decisions.

History 
Designated as 1017th Test and Evaluation Squadron, and activated, on April 6, 1990. Inactivated on Oct. 15, 1992. 
Re-designated as 17th TS on June 30, 1995. Activated on July 21, 1995.
