As of 0400 MT, and after a careful assessment of current weather and road conditions on and off base, Schriever Air Force Base will be open, and all personnel are expected to report on time. It remains very windy out, but visibility is clear. CDOT has confirmed roadways in and around Colorado Springs are open and remain GREEN. Roads on base are GREEN. Both D20 and D49 are currently on a two-hour delay; however Ellicott School district is currently reporting on time. As always, weather safety conditions vary widely across the area, so individuals with specific commuting concerns should contact their respective leadership if there is a need for more time this morning to travel to the base. Be safe! If duty status is changed, information will be updated on Schriever Air Force Base’s Facebook page, local radio and TV stations, and the Snow Line.
Due to an assessment and anticipation of inclement weather conditions and forecast, The 50th Space Wing Commander has directed a "phased" early release for Schriever Air Force Base, effective April 10, 2019, for non-mission essential personnel due to forecast off-base weather and road conditions. Schriever personnel residing north of Wooden are released at 12:00 p.m., North of Platte/Highway 24 at 12:30 p.m., and remaining non-mission essential personnel are released at 1:00 p.m. Weather safety conditions vary widely across the area, so individuals with specific commuting concerns should contact their leadership for a risk management assessment. If duty status is changed, information will be updated on Schriever's Facebook page, local radio and TV stations and the Snow Line.
