The Schriever Air Force Base fire department deployed a team of four firefighters and an engine in support of the Black Forest fire effort today, June 12.

The Schriever fire department has a mutual aid agreement with the sheriff's office for incidents like this.
"Our firefighters are well trained to help our community partners in El Paso County and Colorado Springs with this effort," said Col. James Ross, 50th Space Wing commander.
