SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE --
Parting is such sweet sorrow
On Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, my time as the 50th Space Wing command chief came to an end. Cathy and I have been honored and blessed to have spent the last 20 months with the men and women of Team Five-O, Team Schriever and their families. As we depart Colorado Springs for Washington D.C., we bring with us many fond memories and the satisfaction of new friendships that will last for many years. We are sad to leave, but as a military family understand that “Service Before Self” means we must go where the Air Force needs us when we are needed. Amazing things are being accomplished here every day that have a direct impact on warfighters worldwide and shaping the Air Force of the future. Being part of this team, even if only for a short time, has been memorable for both of us. You are truly Evolving the Force, Driving Innovation and are the Masters of Space.
We wish you all the best…until we see each other again.
