Remembering D-Day 75 years later
A P-47 Thunderbolt, similar to one the 50th Pursuit Group used during World War II, is on display at the National Museum of World War II Aviation in Colorado Springs, Colorado, May 30, 2019. The black and white patterns on the P-47 were to make the aircraft more recognizable to allied forces during the D-Day invasion in order to reduce friendly fire.
